I have been in the marketing industry going on ten years now. That sounds crazy to say. I have seen firsthand the growing impact that digital has on businesses. It's no secret that if a business is not active in the digital space, they are behind. Decades behind.
However, I'd argue this - a business cannot survive on digital alone. As a company, we are hired mostly for social media marketing, and we are good at it. Like really good. We can whip out a month's worth of on brand content in several days, we are creative, and we have the data to prove ourselves. BUT - we continue to see a huge ROI from PR opportunities and events for our clients.
Since COVID wrecked our world in 2020, I think now more than ever, people want people. We crave community. It's the way God made us. Which is why, I believe, that good ole fashion in person events really make a difference for businesses.
Here's a few reasons why events work:
Builds Community and Makes it Personable
Events in store make your brand personable and approachable. On social media, it can be difficult to be relatable and personable, but in person - it comes natural for most people. Events are also a time for your customers to meet each other and bond over the shared love of your brand.
Gets People IN your Business
Often times, a business has so much to offer a community, yet no one knows about it. By hosting an event, you are able to showcase your products and services, and hopefully get consumers to come back for more!
Offers Unique Marketing Opportunities
Often times, events are an opportunity to market a certain service or product that maybe isn't performing as well as it should. Events are a time to offer a one-day discount or sale.
Creates Opportunities for Partnerships
Events are a really special way to partner with other like-minded brands who are similar to yours! This is another way to relate to customers, too - being strategic about what brands you pick opens the door to show support to other businesses that your customers support!
These are just a few ways that events can be a successful opportunity for your business. We love planning them. As a matter of fact, we recommend that clients host at least one a quarter to boost morale, community, and sales! If we can help plan and market events for your business, please let us know!
